Steve Babinsky – To Preserve and Protect
CCCA Board President Steve Babinsky, owner of Automotive Restorations in New Jersey, helped to originate the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance preservation divisions in 1998. He also serves as Head Judge of the Classic Car Club.
His pioneering effort has created significant interest in as-found classic cars, a new passion for so-called barn finds and the increased value of these original-condition cars. Pebble Beach created preservation classes to acknowledge these cars and to give them a forum so there’s an incentive not to restore a car that shouldn’t be restored.
Steve’s personal collection includes more than a dozen original-condition cars, including a 101-year-old Cadillac Model A and a 1932 LaSalle Sports Phaeton that he brought to the 2014 CCCA Museum Experience in June.
